Saturday September 7th get ready to slurp, sip, and support a great cause with Ryleigh’s Oyster Hunt Valley and Oyster Recovery Partnership at our inuagural Oyster Regatta - a summer food and entertainment festival dedicated to the boldest bivalve of them all.

ThisRyleigh’s seafood-studded festival will be a live peformance from ABC's The Voice runner-up Adam Wakefield , Paul Pfau and the Amanda Lynne Band!


Kids will love trying their hand at hand-tonging with authentic oyster tongs and racing model boats on "lake half shell" - a feat made made possible by local fire department. Adults will love the action of learning to shuck with George Hannible Hasting and Oyster Recoevery, and the Beach House Bars and Boats brought to us by Land Shark. EVERYONE will love that proceed benefit the important mission of Oyster Recovery Partnership and that all shell shucked and slurpped during the festival will be recycled and replanted back in local waters!

Whether spending just a few hours in the Tasting Tents (featuring dozens of oysters, local varaties just a buck-per-shuck) or the entire Saturday enjoying the bold Baltimore flavors and live music schedule, oyster-enthusiasts will find their perfect bivalve and beverage experience on Padonia Road this September.

Get ready to slurp, sip, and support a great cause as Ryleigh’s Oyster celebrates the opening of prime Chesapeake Bay Oystering season for the 13th year in a row at this two-day food-and-entertainment festival hosted on E Cross Street in historic Federal Hill.

Oysterfest features dozens of carefully curated Tasting Tents, Raw Bars and Sponsorship displays, all chosen for their unique commitment to the appreciation and preservation of the bold Chesapeake oyster.


Among the foodiefied fare you will find #TrueBlue Marylad Crab Cakes, Fried Oysters, Grilled Oysters, Baltimore Style Pit Beef, Whole Smoked Live-Fire Fish and over 10 different varaities of raw oysters, including buck-a-shuck tasting tents with local oyster farmers!

Highlighting Ryleigh’s seafood-studded street festival is the 9th Annual Baltimore Oyster Shucking Championship, on Saturday at 330pm. Here festival-goers will witness the regions most skilled oyster-openers compete on the Cross Street Stage for the local title and over $1,000 in cash prizes.

Ticket sales are donated back to Living Classrooms Foundation to support Sigsbees educational programs for children and maintenance to keep this historic vessel afloat!

About Sigsbee: The Sigsbee is a traditional Chesapeake Bay skipjack, a sailing craft designed and built to dredge for oysters. Skipjacks typically have a flat or v-shaped bottom and a shallow draft. The one self-tending jib and large triangular mainsail make these vessels easy to sail with a small crew. Today, skipjacks represent the last remaining commercial sailing fleet in the nation. Originally built in 1901, the Sigsbee served in the oystering fleet for 88 years.

Please join us for an ALL YOU CAN EAT crab feast at Ryleigh's Oyster Hunt Valley! It's Semptember folks - that means some of the sweetest crabs of the season are yours for the picking (literally!) 

Proceeds from the event go to support the Ryleigh's Oyster ALL Ryleigh's Oyster Mens Lacrosse Club and Lady Shuckers.
